Hook it up

This weekend we finally got around to replacing our craptastic towel rail with beautiful new hooks.

Removing the towel rail did some damage to the wall but nothing a little spackle and paint couldn’t fix. I also took it as an opportunity to repaint the entire bathroom. The semigloss I had used originally was way too glossy for my taste, so this time I went back over with a tamer Satin finish in the same color (Glidden Pebble Grey).

I searched long and hard for hooks I liked finally spotting these at Restoration Hardware. They were a little pricey at $17 a pop, but they are a perfect match for our bathroom’s polished chrome fixtures and glossy white ceramic tile.

We chose to hang them at eye level and used some light duty plastic drywall anchors to give them a little more strength.

Hooks holding towels. Glad they do their job.

One step closer to a finished bathroom…

Details:

Wall paint: Glidden Satin in Pebble Grey (pale cool grey)

Hooks: Restoration Hardware Century Ceramic Hook in polished chrome, medium size

Towels: Fieldcrest Luxury Bath Towel in Tudor Brown
